Yaacov Shemesh was born on March 3rd 1955, in Kefar Saba, Israel.
At age of 17, Yaacov enrolled to the Israeli army and graduated from the Air Force Academy. Yaacov served 5 years flying combat jets and helicopters, and finally was discharged from the air force with honor, Yom Kipur war award and rank of Captain.
In 1982, Yaacov graduated from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) with Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and minor in Computer Science.
From 1982 to 1986 Yaacov worked for HR Textron, an aerospace company, specialized in computerized simulation of hydraulic pumps and other assemblies for hi-tech aerospace companies such as NASA, and McDonald Douglas.
In 1985, while working a full time job at HRT, Yaacov graduated from USC (University of Southern California) with Master in Computer Architecture (Hardware Firmware Software Interphase).
